A journey through time: guided tours of the Elisabethhalle

The tour naturally includes the two indoor swimming pools - built for the gender-segregated bathing pleasure for women and men at the time. A visit to the indoor swimming pool conveys a wonderful feeling of luxurious bathing in Art Nouveau style. This impression is reinforced by the disused bath section with original fittings and furniture.

As you descend into the hidden technical areas underneath the swimming pool hall, you get an idea of how complex it was to operate such a swimming pool hall, where a coal-fired steam heating system, for example, had to be kept in constant operation. And the effort that is still required today with modern technology to provide a well-heated, ventilated and hygienically perfect indoor swimming pool for the public.

A maximum of 20 people can take part in each tour. The route of the tour is not barrier-free and unfortunately not suitable for people with walking difficulties.
