Aachen Forest: Long paths and quiet stories

Between old border lines and soft moss carpets lies a forest area that has been part of Aachen's identity for centuries. Visitors here will encounter traces of historic 15th-century fortifications that once protected the Free Imperial City. At the same time, the 'Öcher Bösch' shows its close connection to the city, as it is still used and maintained in many ways today. The mixture of quiet paths, small natural monuments and the feeling of being far away from everyday life makes the Aachen Forest a place where you can experience familiar landscapes and historic backdrops at the same time.
