description: "Three female figures have stood on Großkölnstraße since 1974, shaping the image of Aachen's city centre. Sculptor Heinz Tobolla created the umbrella ladies as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the city's often changeable weather. The three bronze figures share two umbrellas, as if they were weathering a shower together. When you walk past them, you notice their calm, almost everyday posture, which radiates warmth and a touch of irony. The sculpture is firmly anchored in the pedestrian zone and has become a familiar feature of the cityscape."

Regenschirmdamen Aachen – quiet companions in the pedestrian street

Three female figures have stood on Großkölnstraße since 1974, shaping the image of Aachen's city centre. The sculpture is firmly anchored in the pedestrian zone and has become a familiar feature of the cityscape.
