Your start is in the south of the route, where Metzdorf and Moersdorf face each other on the Sauer River. The long walk has made you tired, yet happy. It is warm, warmer than anywhere else in the Eifel. Meadow herbs and wild orchids vie in their flowering splendor for the favor of beetles, bees and bumblebees. It hums and buzzes around you, only the butterfly pairs dance silently in the round dance. The nature reserves Rechenberg near Olk and Ralinger Röder offer ideal living conditions for heat-loving animal and plant communities that feel at home on calcareous grasslands with their adjacent shrub and mixed deciduous forest formations. After bathing in meadow and sun, you'll look forward to the cool ravines where mosses, lichens and ferns thrive. So put your shoes back on and continue, now down the valley to Ralingen, where you cross the Sauer Bridge to Rosport. If you have chosen the two-day option, treat yourself to an entertaining visit to the Tudor Museum. The Felsenweg 4 now leads you uphill to magnificent viewpoints and to the oldest place of pilgrimage in Luxembourg: the Gisterklause. Here you can relax and unwind before crossing the Deiwelskapp nature reserve in the last section of the loop."
