The Acropolis of Aachen
On Lousberg hill, you will find a small colonnade reminiscent of times gone by. The antique-looking columns are the last remains of the Belvedere garden restaurant, which was a popular meeting place until its destruction in the Second World War. Today, they stand alone in the greenery and lend the place an almost unexpected lightness. As you walk through the rows of these stone fragments, you can sense something of the atmosphere that once attracted guests. The silent presence of the columns leaves room for your own thoughts and makes Lousberg a place where past and present flow into one another.
