The Vennbahn

The Vennbahn starts in Aachen and follows the former railway line that once connected Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. Today, the cycle path takes you through wide open landscapes, past former railway stations, bridges and relics of what was once an important transport link. The region tells a lot about border lines and trade routes that have changed over the decades. As you ride along the smooth asphalt, the view opens up to moors, forests and open fields. The route is like a quiet chronicle in which nature and history flow into one another, immersing you a little further into this peaceful border landscape with every kilometre.
