Bashed Potatoes: Bluegrass Modern und Traditionell

Concert various

Sparkling solos, glowing harmony vocals, and electrifying grooves

When the Bashed Potatoes stand in a semicircle around a microphone and play and sing together, it's like a little fireworks display every time. In Germany, however, bluegrass is still an insider tip, often considered provincial. The Bashed Potatoes are going to change that!

Joon Laukamp, Paul Lindenauer, Philipp Keck, Steffen Thede, and Pierce Black are virtuosos on their instruments. Some of them come from the US and New Zealand, have different roots in jazz, rock, classical, and baroque music, and are perfectly attuned to each other. What brought them together is their love for the acoustic music traditions of the American South and their modern variations.

In their rousing concerts, the Bashed Potatoes convey the cosmopolitan history of bluegrass, which originated from European and African-American folk music. Their repertoire includes selected traditional songs filled with longing, transience, and spirituality, newgrass songs about contemporary topics, as well as danceable instrumentals and their own compositions.
