Do you love winter sports?

We have the perfect ideas for you!

At SnowWorld Landgraaf, skiing and snowboarding are fun for the whole family, even without high mountains and even in warmer temperatures. Regardless of the weather, you can enjoy a cool winter adventure there. So if you want to make your first turns in the area and don't feel like waiting for your next skiing vacation, Landgraaf in the Netherlands is the place for you! Perhaps the ski hall, which is a 20-minute drive from Aachen, will also become your new favorite destination if you want to try skiing or snowboarding for the first time. The ski and snowboard school offers regular courses for beginners and advanced skiers, as well as for children and adults. Those who don't need or want to learn anything new can of course whizz down the various slopes without a ski or snowboard instructor! Family activities, the cool fun park, and the children's area round off the indoor winter sports experience.

The indoor hall at SnowWorld Landgraaf awaits you with a total of five slopes, including a fun park and chairlift. There is also a practice slope for the little ones: the Kinderland. There, kids learn how to make their first turns on skis or snowboards in a playful way. For very young winter sports enthusiasts, parent & child snowboard lessons are also offered. You don't stand on the snowboard yourself, but support your children together with the instructor. SnowWorld has several professional ski instructors who patiently and safely introduce young and old to the world of winter sports in a wide variety of courses. This means that parents can also take skiing or snowboarding lessons while their children practice diligently. Or you can simply put your skills to the test on the more challenging slopes.

If you don't have your own equipment, that's no problem at all! You can rent everything you need, including skis, snowboards, boots, ski suits, and the mandatory helmet, on site.

Hungry and thirsty? After an action-packed day on the slopes, SnowWorld has four different restaurants and three bars to ensure that you can end the day happy and full. How about a delicious cheese, meat, or fish fondue in a winter atmosphere? Not a bad idea, right?!

Fancy some après-ski? Then visit SnowWorld on the weekend! The beer bar is open and waiting for you...

Ice skating at the 100.5 Arena

Would you rather do a few laps on the ice and even perform elegant pirouettes? Or do you just want to prove to your kids that you can skate without falling down? Then the 100.5 Arena, just a stone's throw from Aachen city center, is probably the place to be!

During the ice skating season, the indoor ice rink is not only the scene of fierce battles for the puck in ice hockey games. It also serves as a stage for figure skaters. The Aachen Figure Skating Club offers courses for children there several times a week. At other times, amateur ice skaters can enjoy the ice rink. The 1,800 square meter ice rink has something for everyone – beginners, advanced skaters, and even professionals.

Saturday is family day. Not only does the ice rink come to life, but so does the ice skating disco – an absolute hit with teens. On Wednesdays, the stage at the ice skating disco for kids is left to young skating fans.

If you don't have your own skates, you can of course hire them on site, along with helmets and walking aids for the little ones. You can satisfy your hunger in between sessions at the Pistenbar. The ice rink is also ideal for an unforgettable children's birthday party.

A little extra: open-air ice skating

If you've had enough of indoor fun and prefer the fresh winter air while ice skating outdoors, you should visit the Advent market in Brand between November and January. Not only does it offer a few stalls to browse, but also an open-air ice rink. Those who just want to watch the fun on the ice can make themselves comfortable in the adjoining tent, drink mulled wine, or eat something delicious. And those who fancy a sporting challenge can sign up for curling—definitely a cool option too!
