"Das Herz eines Boxers"

Dull and silent, former prizefighter Leo spends his days in an old people's home. However, he would much rather be with a friend in France. Leo's peace and quiet comes to an abrupt end when 16-year-old Jojo turns up. The teenager has to serve his suspended sentence for stealing a moped at the retirement home. All he wanted to do was impress the leader of his clique, who taunts him in return. Just like in the ring, Leo and Jojo initially stand opposite each other like opponents.

But Leo soon breaks his silence and the likeable loudmouth Jojo becomes very meek. Because the old boxer has some good tips on how the youngster can discover his fighting heart and get his life together. A crazy friendship begins that completely changes the lives of the initial opponents.

In Lutz Hübner's fast-paced play "The Heart of a Boxer", two outsiders fight their way back into life together. It is a story about friendship and what old and young can learn from each other. Lutz Hübner has been one of the most frequently performed contemporary playwrights in Germany since the late 1990s. He writes most of his plays together with his wife Sarah Nemitz.
