The quintet from Aachen channels its love of music into its own songs, deliberately avoiding labels or being pigeonholed. Sometimes rock, sometimes funky, often with elements of soul and jazz—that’s the band’s motto. Following the release of their first, musically already very diverse CD, *destiny*, in June 2014, the band has since added even more sonic textures with samba and reggae influences. Despite these diverse influences, the result never sounds like a disjointed mix of styles, but rather like classic DCseven: cohesive, distinctive, varied, original, and authentic, with a high degree of recognizability. DCseven is known for expressive, multi-part vocal arrangements and polished arrangements featuring a tight, groovy rhythm section and rousing guitar and keyboard solos.
