ECOS DE SIBONEY – The grandchildren of the world-famous “Buena Vista Social Club”

When guitars, trumpet and percussion fill Burg Wilhelmstein, the sound transports audiences far beyond Aachen for one evening. “Ecos de Siboney” represent the living tradition of Cuban son while carrying forward a remarkable musical legacy.

The group was founded by the grandsons of the legendary Compay Segundo, whose voice and compositions shaped the world-famous Buena Vista Social Club. With dedication, Ernesto, Leonardo and Alejandro Repilado interpret their grandfather’s “poetic compositions” and combine them with their own work. Classics like “Chan Chan” meet new pieces that carefully expand the traditional sound.
