New presentation of the medieval department
Life, trade, saints. Angels, heavenly and earthly music, the Mother of God in the course of time, the veneration of the Christ Child, images and relics as well as the so-called acting images, which had a particularly lively effect through inclusion in certain rituals, are topics that illustrate the life and thinking of people in the Middle Ages. Also a church room as an important center in the medieval city life is reconstructed. In addition, economic-historical aspects are addressed. An exciting tour introduces the medieval world of images in its great versatility.
