Poetry Slam

Where slogans and censorship once ruled, poets now compete against each other at the "VogelSlam" to compete in free art! In the middle of the impressive landscape of the Eifel National Park, the International Square is transformed into a stage for powerful texts and great emotions. An evening that brings culture to life and provides information about the past in order to promote a conscious understanding of the present.

Poetry Slam combines an unpredictable mix of cabaret, comedy and the finest poetry in just one evening. It is no coincidence that the format, which was declared a UNESCO cultural heritage site in 2016, ranges from uproariously funny stories and fast-paced poetry to political wit and emotional narratives.

But that's not all: at the poetry slam, the show becomes a competition! The performers each have six minutes to convince you - the audience - of their texts. You vote and decide who you want to see on stage again. The rules for the performers are simple: the texts must be written by the performers themselves and must be performed without props or music.
