The Magic Flute

Opera & Operetta

Opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

A modern fairy tale for the whole family!

The focus is on the adventures of Tamino, Papageno, and Pamina, who, equipped with magical instruments, not only overcome dangers but also ask questions about trust, good and evil, and the power games of the older generation. Papageno provides unforgettable moments with his wit and charm – a popular character for young and old alike. And, of course, the famous arias and melodies that have made Mozart's opera a classic are also featured.

Geertje Boeden's Aachen production invites audiences of all ages to rediscover Mozart's masterpiece. In an abridged version, “The Magic Flute” is perfect for both opera novices and connoisseurs. Humorous German dialogues, imaginative costumes, and the media stage by the famous Aachen artist Tim Berresheim make the piece shine as a contemporary fairy tale full of magic and music.
