Treasures on paper: from the graphic collection of the Cathedral Treasury

Exhibition
Special exhibition in the vault of the cathedral treasury
In the large exhibition case in the basement of the Cathedral Treasury, objects from the collection that are otherwise not on display are exhibited time and again. The new "Treasures on Paper" presentation showcases around 50 sheets from the Prints and Drawings Collection, which is characterised by an impressive number of unique works of art; naturally, many of the prints also relate to the city, the cathedral and Charlemagne.

The collection's curator, art historian Dieter Detiège, who has enriched the team with his work since 2014 and has inventoried and processed the neglected graphic holdings, is showing a special selection with the following focal points in collaboration with his colleague Katrin Heitmann:

- The cathedral in its city
- Piety
- Curiosities
- The artistic gaze
