Elisengarten
The Elisengarten is located directly behind the Elisenbrunnen fountain and was laid out in the mid-19th century according to plans by Prussian landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné. The park acts as a quiet transition between the lively urban space and a green oasis of calm. When the weather is good, the square fills with people looking for a break from everyday life, reading a book or enjoying a picnic. The wide lawn and paths create an open atmosphere where history and modern city life meet. Thanks to its location in the heart of Aachen, the Elisengarten is ideal for short breaks as well as for moments when you simply want to watch the hustle and bustle of the old town.
