Observatory
The Aachen Observatory is tucked away on the edge of Hangeweiher Park. It has stood here since 1935 and has retained its original construction and equipment, which gives it its special charm. When you enter the small building, a world far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city opens up to you. The atmosphere is calm and focused, almost like an intermediate space where time passes more slowly. Visitors can experience the fascination of the sky directly through the telescope and gain insights into current developments relating to stars, planets and galaxies. The observatory combines scientific curiosity with a place that has remained unchanged for almost a century, thus retaining a special authenticity.
