Roskapellchen
Between Rosstraße and St. Jakob's Church stands the Roskapellchen, a Baroque gem from the 18th century. The chapel was built in 1758 and is linked to an older wayside shrine where a statue of the Virgin Mary from the early 16th century was once venerated. Today, the Roskapellchen is a peaceful refuge in the middle of the neighbourhood. When you stand in front of it, the simple façade catches your eye, yet it has a warm aura. Once a year, the chapel takes centre stage at the Streuengelchenfest, a local tradition where children are treated to sweets. The place is thus associated with memories shared by many people in Aachen.
