Cultural highlights amid a fairytale landscape characterise this part of the Nims Valley Cycle Route, which links the Eifel beer metropolis of Bitburg with Minden, on the border between Germany and Luxembourg. First of all, it is worth taking a look at the Bitburg World of Beer Brands, before setting off on this delightful route which has a lot to offer the intrepid cyclist, in terms of both culture and nature. Highlights along the way include the Eifel sandstone sculptures that are scattered along the cycle route as far as Minden.
TIP: If you fancy a more athletic cycle ride, the northern part of the Nims Valley Cycle Route is for you. It takes you from Weinsheim near Prüm through the Schönecker Schweiz and on to Bitburg.
TIP: Towards the south, it’s just a few kilometres further to the Prüm Valley Cycle Route, which crosses the Sauer Valley Cycle Route in Minden, on the border between Germany and Luxembourg.
