Four at the Couven

The exciting concert afternoon is characterized by concert halves of different lengths: Shostakovich's extremely concentrated quartet, which expresses the composer's shock at the illness and death of his first wife, is combined with Schubert's last quartet, which goes beyond the boundaries of the conventions of the time and is performed for the first time in this series as one of the pinnacle works of the quartet literature.
