By means of the worldwide unique Chronoskope® in Aachen city, you are given the possibility of making a time journey through the history of the imperial city. 2.50 m high metal columns with 3 eyepieces in different heights allow young and old a view into the past. By pushing a button, two-minute animations with interesting information are activated free of charge and in four different languages (D, GB, F, NL). The places where the Chronoskope® installations are located have carefully been selected in relation to the various subjects. The six subjects are: The Aachen Cathedral, the ‘Rathaus‘ (town hall), the palatinate of Charlemagne, the Granus tower, the Capitualre de Villis – herb garden of Charlemagne – and last but not least the mineral thermal springs, which have made Aachen famous until today.
