Burg Frankenberg (castle)
In the 'Frankenberger district' stands 'Burg Frankenberg', a structure dating back to the thirteenth century. Originally a free castle, it later became a fief of the counts and dukes of Jülich, Kleve and Berg. Its preserved features reflect the character of a medieval lowland castle. Set among residential streets, it forms a quiet historical anchor that brings a sense of continuity to the neighbourhood. The stones reveal traces of many centuries and convey an atmosphere shaped by enduring history.
