Suermondt-Park

Suermondt Park is a green oasis in the dense urban fabric of the Suermondt district. Its compact size creates a peaceful atmosphere that offers a welcome break from everyday life. Since its redesign in 2016, it has gained new paths, seating areas and a community garden, giving the park an open yet familiar feel. In 2022, the city of Aachen was awarded the Federal Urban Greenery Prize for this location, as the park exemplifies how quality of life and climate adaptation can come together. Between trees, play areas and small retreats, a place is created that reflects the diversity of the neighbourhood and gently connects its residents.
