Unfinished – Finished is the motto of the 52nd Aachen Bach Days. In keeping with this motto, the popular concert series under the artistic direction of church music director Georg Hage will focus on seven events this time around, featuring incomplete works and cycles that have found their way to their present form in various ways.
With the nationally significant Aachen Bach Festival, initiated by Johannes Geffert in 1974, the Aachen Bach Society, together with the Protestant parish as organizer, sets an artistic focus at the end of each year. The concert series places the works of Johann Sebastian Bach in a music-historical and extra-musical context. With baroque and chamber music, cantatas and oratorios, organ music and orchestral concerts, jazz improvisation and avant-garde, the Aachen Bach Days offer a challenging and varied musical program every year.
