In the cathedral treasury, you will encounter over twelve centuries of sacred art that have shaped Aachen Cathedral since the time of Charlemagne. The collection is considered the most important ecclesiastical treasury north of the Alps and, together with the cathedral, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. Here you will find precious reliquaries, liturgical objects, textiles and manuscripts that reveal the spiritual and artistic significance of the place. The atmosphere is almost meditative, giving you an idea of how strongly Aachen has been shaped by faith and culture since the early Middle Ages.
