“Die Sitzende” (the sitter) and her twin in the Kurgarten park in the Burtscheid district of Aachen
“Die Sitzende” has taken her place in the Kurgarten park in Burtscheid for the second time since 1962. In December 2015, she was stolen. Following a civic initiative and with the support of a primary funder, the Aachener Bank, her twin sister was purchased in January 2016. The artist Heike Dobberkau still had the twin statue in her possession, and was happy to be able to present “the sitter” to the residents of Burtscheid for a second time.
