Aachen horse group – a moment full of movement at the main station
In the square in front of Aachen Central Station, you will encounter a sculpture that appears to have paused mid-leap. Created in 1975 by artist Bonifatius Stirnberg, the horse group depicts five bronze animals whose bodies are tightly intertwined. Standing nearby, you can sense the tension between playfulness and untamed power. The animals look as if they are about to run off at any moment. Many travellers only notice the group as they pass by, but if you take a moment to pause, the ensemble reveals its own tranquillity. It is a reminder of the centuries-old significance of horses in the region and lends the station square a lively touch.
