Hotmannspief

At the intersection of busy roads stands the Hotmannspief, a fountain that has been part of the city for centuries. As early as the 14th century, there was a running fountain here that carters used to water their horses. Perhaps this is where the unusual name Hotmann comes from. In the 19th century, the site was given a new look: in 1825, the obelisk was built according to plans by Adam Franz Friedrich Leydel, and in 1830 the figures were added.
