Museum/Exhibition
Kunsthaus NRW in the baroque monastery residence Kornelimünster

Lovers of modern art will get their money's worth here. In 1721 Prince Abbot Count Hyacinth Alfons von Suys had the former monastery converted into a baroque palace. Today it belongs to the state of NRW and houses the Kunsthaus NRW with a collection of works of art from Rhenish Expressionism to the present day. The collection includes works by famous artists such as Christian Rohlfs, Ernst Wilhelm Nay, Günther Uecker, Gerhard Richter and Joseph Beuys. A permanent exhibition informs about the history of the imperial abbey Kornelimünster. The monastery atmosphere makes this exhibition a unique art experience.
