Marienkapelle chapel
The Marienkapelle chapel in Burtscheid is located at an old crossroads and is one of those places that quietly tells its story. Built in the 17th century on the initiative of the citizens and the abbess at the time, the small church quickly became a familiar destination for people from the surrounding area. It is popularly known as Klein-Scherpenheuvel, a reference to the popular image of the Madonna inside. Upon entering, you are greeted by a room that, despite its simplicity, exudes a special tranquillity. The chapel is a reminder of Burtscheid's spiritual tradition and invites you to pause for a moment and soak up the atmosphere.
