On the edge of the “Öcher Bösch” and in the middle of a green area, the Von-Halfern Park takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city. However, it’s not just popular for its pretty views, but also for its unusually varied, exotic trees. Here, you’ll find a “tree of heaven” next to a pedunculate oak or a sequoia. Another unusual feature are the activities which the former owner, Friedrich von Halfern, organised on this sloping site. As well as forest bowling and boccia, it is said that there was also an archery range here. Today, the park is an ideal place for a relaxed picnic with the whole family, or for taking a rest after walking through the Aachener Wald forest.
