Frittezang
The Frittezang has stood at the Elisenbrunnen fountain since 1998 and immediately catches the eye with its unusual shape. American architect Peter Eisenmann designed the bus shelter as a modern intervention in the historic surroundings. The people of Aachen gave it its name because its shape is reminiscent of oversized pliers. Today, the Frittezang acts as a small counterpoint to the classic architecture surrounding it and invites visitors to pause for a moment and take in the mixture of everyday life and art.
