Kehrmännchen - the sweepter

Between the narrow streets of the old town, the street sweeper stands quietly by the Annuntiatenbach stream, reminding us of those who carry the rhythm of everyday life. The bronze figure by Heinz Tobolla was presented to the city in 1973 and, in its simplicity, pays tribute to the lives and work of ordinary labourers. The little street sweeper looks as if he has only stopped briefly before continuing on his way. When you pass by him, you feel a quiet connection to the history of the city, which was shaped not only by big names, but also by quiet forces.
