The RWTH Aachen is usually regarded mainly as a technical university. However, on the Augustinerplatz square, there is a sculpture created by students from the sculpture faculty at the RWTH in 1971. Under the guidance of Prof. E. Hillebrand, 87 individual stones were used to create a stele on the theme of the “third world”, with numerous small, playful details.
