Horseback combat in Aachen – a scene full of power and childlike imagination
At the end of Kockerellstraße, you will encounter a sculpture that captures the moment of child's play. Four boys form two pairs, each carrying the other on their shoulders as they playfully compete. Sculptor Karl-Henning Seemann designed this group of figures in such a way that the tension of the moment becomes visible. The bodies lean forward, hands reaching for balance and support, as if the game were about to continue at any moment. The scene depicts a familiar motif known to many from their own childhood and seems like a silent echo of the lively history of the small streets and squares in the heart of Aachen.
