St. Adalbert priory church
Between the streets surrounding Kaiserplatz square lies a space that has been part of the cityscape for over a millennium. St. Adalbert's Provost Church was consecrated in 1005 and is considered the second oldest church in Aachen. Its clear architecture reflects the period in which it was built as the collegiate church of a collegiate foundation. When you enter the interior, you can feel the layers of many eras that have quietly accumulated here. In the 1930s, the church was given the status of a provost church, underlining its special significance in the young diocese of Aachen. Today, it invites you to pause and discover the long history that rests within its walls.
