Between the shops on Adalbertstraße stands the Kugelbrunnen, a living sculpture made of stainless steel. Created in 1977 by Albert Sous, the work was made using parts from old washing machines, among other materials. Three interlocking spheres rest on a simple pipe that marks the height of the fountain. If you pause for a moment, you can see the special effect of the material in combination with light and water. The kinetic appearance of the fountain makes the square seem more open and connects technology and city life in an unobtrusive way.
